Safecontractor Approved
Safecontractor was initially developed as a bespoke project for a Property Management client, who wished to outsource the annual vetting of contractors on its approved list. Interest shown by other similar clients identified the potential for a standardised system that could be offered to the whole of the company's client base.
In 1999, SupplyLine was born. After further development the product was expanded to provide web based access to its clients, and was re-branded as Safecontractor in 2003.
Steady growth and the adoption of the system by some major brand names such as Kellogg, Debenhams Retail Plc, Home Retail Group and General Motors UK, saw entry into new client markets and further growth in contractor members.
Safecontractor is part of the Alcumus Group, the market-leading provider of technology-enabled compliance risk management, certification and verification services.
Alcumus employs circa 700 people and supports more than 30,000 clients in the UK and internationally with their Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) strategies.
Constructonline
Constructionline is the UK's leading procurement and supply chain management service that collects, assesses and monitors standard company information through a question set that is aligned to PAS 91, the standardised pre-qualification questionnaire developed by BSI to reduce duplication within the construction industry.
Our aim is to provide efficiency savings to public and private sector buyers and the construction industry as a whole by streamlining procurement procedures and improving the supply chain management processes by reducing risk, creating cost efficiencies and helping buyers engage with new suppliers, including SMEs and local companies.
National Federation of Roofing Contractors Ltd
From humble beginnings in 1892, The National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited (NFRC) has established itself as the leading roofing trade association in the United Kingdom. With seven regions, over 1000 trade contractors and 173 Supplier Members (manufacturers, suppliers and service providers), NFRC represents over 70% of the roofing industry by value.
Through various initiatives, NFRC continues to strive to provide confidence to clients who use its members and to the members to receive a service that is second to none.
• NFRC actively ensures that members offer high standards of workmanship and sound business practice through a strict code of practice and independent vetting procedure, including site inspections and adhering to the Government-endorsed TrustMark standards.
• All NFRC trade members hold comprehensive insurance cover and insurance-backed warranties are available.
• Approved manufacturers, suppliers and service providers (Supplier Member)
• Heritage specialist roofers and trained and reputable solar installers
• Numerous technical committees, advisory and focus groups. NFRC also provides secretariat for a number of organisations including the Green Roof Organisation (GRO)
• Technical support for members and their clients
• Working closely with a number of other specialist trade associations to ensure one voice for the roofing industry.
Contractors Health and Safety Scheme
In 1997 a group of health and safety and procurement professionals from across Great Britain worked with the Association of London Government (ALG) to develop CHAS. In 2001 CHAS became a web-based system.
CHAS started with two main aims.
• To improve health and safety standards across Great Britain.
• To reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers.
• These days we have more than 500 public and private sector buyer organisations, such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts, including a growing number of large private companies who employ sub-contractors.

Competent Roofer
CompetentRoofer is the Government-licenced Competent Person Scheme that allows professional roofing contractors to self-certify that their roof refurbishment work complies with Building Regulations within England and Wales. The scheme encompasses all roofing types for domestic, industrial, and commercial properties and is open to all roofing contractors to apply.
